If you care about the natural world and the beauties Mother Nature has to offer us (if we were in a classroom I’d expect to see an endless amount of raised hands), you should be primed and ready to catch Dion Agius’ Dark Hollow.
To give you a bit of back story of Agius, he’s a surfer and film director whose spent his years exploring the ins and outs of the Earth, experiencing it in all of its beauty and wonder. Thus, Dark Hollow is the result of his travels, an embodiment of his appreciation of the natural world, and more specifically, how it could be if we looked after it.
Naturally, you’d expect a film about sustainability to be made in a sustainable way, hence why Agius teamed up with Globe for the film and the accompanying unisex capsule (which features illustrations by LA-based tattoo artist Nathan Kostechko).
And now we’re finally seeing the part surf and part doco feature in its entirety this Thursday. It’s all kicking off at 8pm until late at the Alex Theatre in St. Kilda, and you best believe it’s gonna be well worth the wait (event deets here).
A pretty special project. If you’re in St Kilda this Thursday, do yourself a favour and get yourself down to Alex Theatre for a special screening of Dark Hollow. And while you’re waiting, enter the Dark Hollow and check out the shoot we did for Dion Agius’ and Globes’ Sustainable Collection a couple weeks back here, along with the full collection here.
