In the light of the pandemic, we as humans have managed to find some joy and time to reflect and get creative…

Sure the baby on the cover of Nirvana sued the band, Gladys abandoned NSW and the Kardashians finished filming their FINAL season… FOREVER… but somehow the world keeps turning. Hopefully it wil continue to do so and we’ll make it to October 11th, when those of us in NSW will be b-lining straight at the pub having a couple off wood and ask each other what we’ve been up to over the past year or so. And, of course, 99% of the responses will be “nothing.”

Meanwhile in Newcastle there’s Jack Taylor. Known for capturing beautiful moments of the world’s best surfers, he’s got hard drives full of amazing clips of Ryan Callinan, Craig Anderson and Matt Hoy just to name a few. In his spare time during lockdown, Jack would sit at Bar Beach gold bowl and watch Jedd McKenzie and other locals shred the bowl. Jedd has a style that is smooth, fast and easy on the eye with explosions of tweaked out airs and inverts, it was this and timing that brought Jack and Jedd together to pull out the 8mm cam and create a little clip.

Backed by the sounds of Igor Savin the visual delight is all caught on film at Bar Beach, Newcastle over an afternoon into the sunset. Kick back for three minutes and enjoy Jedd at Bar.
