The 41-year-old, who’s previously modelled for Balmain and Gucci and has her own SKIMS shapewear brand, dons three different looks in the new campaign, which dropped yesterday. Much to our relief, it appears the reality TV star and fashion house are moving away from the face-covering Balenciaga bodysuit she wore at the MET Gala last May, instead opting for skintight catsuits and leopard print coats as takes turns rocking different colours of Balenciaga’s coveted “Le Cagole” bag, with the label’s sock boots to tie it all together.
She joins previous Oscar nominee Isabelle Huppert as the latest of Balenciaga’s muses, the pair starring in a series of intimate home images shot by Stef Mitchell. Make no mistake however, Kim is the star of this campaign, Balenciaga going so far as wiping their Instagram clean and leaving only Kim’s shots on their grid to further cement their new partnership.
The union between the two seems to perfectly align with Kardashian’s fashion evolution, with the star recently confessing to the New York Times, “I had a Balmain era, I had a Givenchy era, and this is my Balenciaga era… When I wear clothes designed by Demna, I feel cool. I feel no matter what I wear, it’s going to be all right, because he designed it and he’s the coolest.”
