Vans, ever the champions of skate culture, have teamed up with Palm Angels to pay tribute to the art form, releasing a three-piece footwear collection.
Centred around the individuality and freedom inherent to skating, the first ever footwear venture between the two brands takes inspiration from Vans classics such as the Sk8-Hi VLT LX, Sk8- Mid VLT LX, and the Old Skool LX, with each kick being reimagined through Palm Angels red, grey, white, and black. Vans’ signature sidestripe has also gotten a makeover, with the Palm Angels logo subbing in for the iconic design feature.
To celebrate the new collab, Palm Angels Founder and Creative Director, Francesco Ragazzi, curated a series of images in what’s a nod to the origins of Palm Angels itself, with the Milan-born photographer explaining, “Palm Angels started with a photography book and Vans was already there. I took a picture of a guy skating in Venice beach, wearing the most vintage Vans Sk8-Hi I had ever seen and since then, the idea of Palm Angels collaborating with Vans has always been in my mind. It’s now finally reality.
“With this collection I wanted to recreate exactly that same image: few models with a vintage feeling and a contemporary take”..

It’s no doubt a welcome effort from the two skateboarding staples. The Palm Angels x Vault by Vans collaboration is now available via palmangels.com and at select Palm Angels stores worldwide, and will be available via select Vault by Vans retailers from October 1st.
