This question has haunted me since the dawn of time…

When he’s not raving about DMT or writing mediocre comedy bits about being a +50 year old man in America, podcaster Joe Rogan is asking the big questions on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. And no, before you think it, we’re not referring to his asking about COVID conspiracies for the millionth time or whether Elon Musk wants to get stoned in front of billions of people, rather, he’s got a much more pressing query on his mind: Why on Earth does Macca’s Coke taste so bloody good compared to regular Coke?

Okay, to be fair, his guest Tom Segura brought it up on the latest episode of the popular swig, but who’s keeping score? Anyway, the two take a deep dive into the topic (AKA, a simple Google search), coming to the conclusion that Macca’s has their Coke delivered in stainless steel tanks as opposed to plastic bags like other soft drink companies. Then, the syrup and water get pre-chilled before being inserted into the soda fountain. To top things off, Maccas then uses insulated tubes to deliver the Coke from their fridge to their drink dispenser, which helps to keep the beverage just that extra little bit cold.

The pair then go into a full breakdown of Macca’s burgers and that of other fast food chains, with Rogan showing his age by raving about the Fillet’O’Fish before they go into just how much sugar is in a standard Macca’s burger bun (don’t even get me started). In accordance with Rogan’s previous deep dives into random topics on his podcast, the conversation quickly loses direction before he starts raving about one of his mates that did something funny one time that is sort of relevant while being completely unrelated to the current conversation as well. We won’t spoil all the fun, but alas, if you’ve ever wondered about what just goes into Macca’s Coke, look no further:
