This is only the first time I’m seeing Ed Harris as Lou and I already despise him…

In what just might be one of her most compelling roles yet, former teen star Kirsten Stewart has linked up with A24 for her latest film. Titled Love Is Bleeding, the new entry from the ‘Snow White’ actress sees her take on the part of a bodybuilding manager named Lou who ends up warring with her estranged father (played by Ed Harris) over his criminal history.

It might seem like a bit of an unusual plot, but the way its showcased in the trailer has you chomping at the bit by the end of its two-and-a-half minute runtime. Playing in the backdrop of it all is a bunch of seemingly soul-destroying workouts and Stewart’s romance with co-star Katy O’Brian, who plays fellow bodybuilder and gun enthusiast, Jackie.

To be frank, this sounds exactly like the sort of film that A24 would get behind, and the trailer is similarly true to the film house’s form. Featuring plenty of wigs, dramatic close ups and some pretty intense dialogue exchanges, the film ups the ante as you’re confronted with the absolute insanity that surrounds Stewart’s character. It’s a sentiment embodied when she finds a dead body halfway through the trailer, with all hell seemingly breaking loose in the aftermath.

It’s definitely one of her most engaging projects yet. Check out the full trailer for Love Is Bleeding below ahead of its release on March 8th next year.
