Lewi Brown gives the GEL-CUMULUS 16 and LETHAL TESTIMONIAL 4 IT a nostalgic makeover.

Well, we learned a few things today. Firstly, that Earl’s Collection founder Lewi Brown used to be a professional rugby league player. Secondly, that he’s a Christchurch native with a deep fondness for his family and roots. And here I was thinking he just made awesome clothes…

So why am I learning all of the above? Because Earl’s Collection has just teamed up with ASICS SportStyle for the second time, creating a two-piece drop centred around nostalgia, tidy silhouettes and, randomly, a bit of rug-core.

The GEL-CUMULUS 16 leans heavily into Brown’s upbringing, blending classic ASICS performance DNA with personal touches pulled straight from his childhood. Silver accents honour the original running line, while brown overlays and pebbled ASICS stripes reference family heritage and years of hard work. Elsewhere, mesh panelling nods back to the pair’s original collaboration, with custom insoles recreating the carpet from Brown’s childhood home in Christchurch.

Alongside it sits the LETHAL TESTIMONIAL 4 IT football boot — a first-of-its-kind move for ASICS SportStyle Australia — inspired by Brown’s early rugby league days, complete with interchangeable laces, custom detailing and references to the Addington Show Grounds where he grew up playing.
