It’s being touted as Former’s first real team film, and it certainly had that raw debut energy when we wandered into Newy’s legendary, newly reno’d cinema on King St, with hundreds of surf fans, from groms to old dogs, keen to see what Craig, Dane and co. had been cooking up.
Outside of surfing, there really isn’t enough time or words to describe it while we’re this hungover. The film was underscored by a gritty determination to push through injuries, setbacks, and unpredictable conditions. It was the surf film that would not quit.
Of course, alongside Dane and Craig, there was also some insane footage from the whole team, including Ben Howard, Shaun Manners, Jake Kelley, Jay Davies, Kaito Ohashi, Gabe Morvil, Dion Agius, Dillon Perillo, James Kustino, Timo Simmers, Matt Hoy, and Kai McKenzie.
