Like some sort of hip-hop fuelled dream, Azealia Banks has just been announced to play the lead role in an upcoming movie called “Coco”. The film will be directed by Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, and will feature an all star line-up of Common, Jill Scott, Lucien Laviscount, Lorraine Toussaint and Hana Mae Lee. Even if the acting might be rubbish, we’re thinking the soundtrack is going to be incredible.

In the New York-set drama (maybe even in the… 212?) Banks (who coincidently went to LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts alongside Nicki Minaj) will play and aspiring rapper, named Coco, who is torn by her parents dream to finish college – giving up her plans of carving out a music career, she is inspired by spoken word classes. I don’t care if we can already guess the montage ending of her getting a record deal after a poetry slam – take my money.
