Back in January, we kick-started 2016 in rambunctious fashion when we took a road trip up to Brisbane for the inaugural edition of FOMO festival. With everybody from RL Grime to Boys Noize to Skepta on the lineup, how could we refuse?

The festival included some word-class internationals and local favourites on a single jam-packed stage, while our mini-vacay also included an excellent seafood buffet and a serene bike ride by the Brisbane river. Shouts to the Sunshine State for showing us such an excellent time! Now, the FOMO aftermovie has just dropped, allowing us to relive all of those tear-inducing memories with some extensive slow-motion footage from the day set to ‘Loud Places’ by Jamie XX. Also, props to Anna Lunoe for wearing an excellent Fila shirt on the day.

While the aftermovie presents an accurate summary of the day’s activities, there’s even more exciting news for punters who missed out on all the action: FOMO is coming back in 2017. Moreover, organisers state that Brisbane won’t be the only city to be receiving some love next year, with an additional festival to take place somewhere in Australia.

They’ve kept tight-lipped about the whole situation, only saying that “Next year Brisbane, you won’t be the only city with FOMO…”

When Triple J reached out to squeeze more information, FOMO organisers said “Our first FOMO festival was such an incredible success, we can’t wait to go back to Riverstage in 2017… And who knows where else!”

Adelaide? Perth? Wagga Wagga? Who knows where FOMO will end up next year, but expect it to come back bigger and better. See all of our flicks from this year’s festival here, and check out the aftermovie below:
