Heading into March means one thing – Nike will be beginning the ‘Month of Max’ celebrations which focuses on the past, present and future of the revolutionary sneaker family that has graced feet since 1987.

Air Max is the best range to ever grace the sneaker world, period. From the abundance of TNs you see at your local train station to the blacked-out, fashion-centric models worn by steez lords, the Air Max family is an integral staple on Australia’s style landscape.

Nike obviously agrees with this sentiment, as throughout the next few weeks they are launching a series of events dedicated to the incredible Air Max range. Nike will be blessing the streets of Surry Hills with the Air Max Lab – a space they’ve dedicated to the history of the sneaker. For the OGs, there’s no doubt that there will be plenty of heat and unashamed flexing on display. For newcomers, it’s a chance to get educated and converted to the Air Max family – you’ll be sweating Air Max 97 Silver Bullets in no time.

It all kicks off on March 12 with ‘Max Talk’ – a Q&A session between three Air Max fanatics. The speakers include Simon ‘Woody’ Wood – the founder of the biggest footwear publication on the planet, Sneaker Freaker – as well as designer and veteran Jazz Bonifacio. Life Without Andy’s very own editor Christopher Kevin Au aka 24 Karat Kev will also be throwing banter about all things Air Max 95.

From then, there will be several other events including an ‘Artists of Air’ exhibition and a fun run before the finale on March 26: Air Max Day. In case it isn’t obvious, Air Max Day is the big one. The three levels of the Air Max Lab will be open to the public – expect Air Max history, culture & love scattered throughout the Surry Hills building sitting at 74 Commonwealth St. Sydney is the first city to celebrate Air Max Day, so expectations are high and any self-respecting Air Max fan will be at this jam with bubbly goodness on their feet.

You can register your attendance at all of the events right here! Head along this Saturday to see 24 Karat Kev talk all things Air Max 95, while making at least three references to The Game and a minimum of two references to Gucci Mane. There will also probably be a Ghostface Killah quote in there too, so stay tuned.
