This September marks two decades since West Coast legend Tupac Shakur was fatally gunned down in Las Vegas, and soon after the anniversary we’ll be able to witness his hugely hyped biopic All Eyez On Me.

The film directed by Benny Boom has just finished shooting, and now some footage from the film has surfaced online. The footage – which has since been deleted but is still available to watch here – was inspired by a real life 1994 interview that Tupac gave outside a courtroom while facing a sexual assault charge:

Tupac will be played by emerging actor and doppelganger Demetrius Shipp Jr, who recently celebrated the completion of All Eyez On Me shooting, saying “not too long ago it was just struggle, stress and trying to figure it all out. Now I just wrapped up a feature film and I’m the star, and not just any movie, the life of Tupac… 2015 threw every curveball possible in the midst of preparation to get this role.” Shipp will be joined by Jamal Woolard playing Biggie Smalls, who has previously portrayed the Brooklyn great in the polarising 2009 film Notorious:

If Straight Outta Compton is anything to go by, then this fellow West Coast rap biopic will be a global hit. We’ll just have to wait until November to see posthumous ‘Pac hit the big screen.

And that's a picture wrap. Still can't believe what my life has become and is becoming. Not too long ago it was just struggle, stress and trying to figure it all out. Now I just wrapped up a feature film and I'm the star, and not just any movie, the life of Tupac, CRAZY. 2015 threw every curveball possible in the midst of preparation to get this role. Thank God for giving me what I needed to keep going and blessing me with the role. Thank you to all the crew and cast, man yall helped make this experience unforgettable 4real. I've made some life long friendships within this film and can't wait til we're all together again at the premiere. R.i.p to Tupac Shakur, you're a Black Pioneer and a Hero to our people and culture. I hope my performance pays tribute and gives insight to your life and most of all "Spark the brain"
