Working under the Freehand Profit moniker, Gary Lockwood has creates bold sneaker interpretations that transfer footwear into facial accessories.

Having been lured to hip-hop by Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle in grade school, Lockwood soon turned his passion for art towards sneakers – cutting and sewing them meticulously, giving them new life as gas masks. Having gained worldwide attention for his daring works, his most recent adventure brings him to Australia to celebrate adidas Originals’ longstanding EQT range.

Taking to Foot Locker’s freshly renovated flagship store on George St, this exhibition showed off Lockwood’s work including two brand new creations, including the adidas EQT ADV Primeknit which is dropping in stores today. Ever worn a shoe on your face? It’s actually quite pleasant. See the gallery above, and if you’d like to see Freehand Profit’s work in the flesh, head down to Foot Locker on 542 George St from 24th August – 27 August and 31st August – 3rd September, between 10am – 9pm:
