Move My Way Festival hit Sydney over the weekend, and it was every bit as textural as we expected.

You know what we mean by ‘textural’. The festival hosted artists from all corners of the musical spectrum, from rapper Freddie Gibbs and jazzy UK legends Ezra Collective to our own Afro-infused hip hop queen Sampa The Great, and so many more.

But there was this underlying groove that somehow linked it all together, as if the whole day was one big set where everyone spoke a shared musical language. That’s elite festival curation IMO.

And judging by the scenes captured by Jules Sarantis below, the crowd was very much speaking that language too. Big singalongs, packed dancefloors and plenty of hands in the air made for the kind of festival atmosphere that’s impossible to manufacture.
