Bringing the heat into 2021 like only they can, long-haired larrikins Ocean Alley absolutely lit up the Canberra Theatre last night. Featuring a diverse set-list that ranged across their numerous albums and EPs, the psychedelic lords helped the nations capital get amongst it with their signature mix of badass tunes and fun-loving attitudes. Oh, and enough superstar power to blast a whole into outer space. Whether they slowed it down for more mellow tracks like ‘Knees’ or sped things up with tunes like ‘Way Down,’ the six-piece were in total control of the night, and it was bloody marvellous to watch.
