And it culminated with the Vans Showdown – the “pointless” competition that provided some of the highlights of the event – wherein the California skate community descended on the park to watch some of the world’s finest duke it out in freeform format. Hayley Wilson and Jhancarlos Gonzalez took home the top prizes in women’s and men’s comps with the sun beaming down on the beachside park.
