Never say never…

It’s fair to say that ever since The Queens Gambit was added to Netflix last month, fans have been absolutely eating it up, demolishing it in record time and already requesting a follow up. Even the synopsis of the series had us sold before its release, reading “Haunted by her personal demons and fuelled by a cocktail of narcotics and obsession, Beth transforms into an impressively skilled and glamorous outcast while determined to conquer the traditional boundaries established in the male-dominated world of competitive chess.”

Now, star of the show Anya Taylor-Joy is lapping it up, and has given us a glimmer of hope as to whether we’d ever see her play the role of chess wizard Beth Harmon again. Opening up in a recent interview, Taylor-Joy said “I adore the character, and I would certainly come back if I was asked to, but I do think we leave Beth in a good place.

“I think the rest of her life will surely be an adventure as well, but in the quest that she goes on in this to find some form of peace, just some form of being able to be happy with who she is.

“I think it ends in a nice place.”

I mean that’s more than fair enough, especially since there only is one book that the series is based on. But fingers crossed those writers get busy and we get that new season one day. For now, check out the trailer for the Netflix smash below.
