Following on from his first collaborative work with Porsche way back in April, New York City artist Daniel Arsham has unveiled his new piece, completely overhauling a 1986 930 Turbo donor car.
The latest addition to his Future Relic series, the car features a sleek white exterior with tonal black racing car decals (including Arsham Studio and Dior vinyls). The Fuchs-shaped rims also feature crosshatched Arsham Studio monogram, paying tribute to the OG magnesium alloy rims of the 1974 RSR.
Regarding the inside of the car, the 930 Turbo is fitted with premium Italian leather as well as heavyweight stonewashed canvas by Objects For Living. The upholstery also features a custom leather Porsche-Arsham steering wheel and aluminium turbo door sills, as well as hand-painted, bespoke gauges in the dash glean design cues from Japan-made 930.
Taking two years with the project, Arsham said “Every aspect of the car was customized. The hand painted livery exterior by @deathspray is heavily influenced by the 1980 935 K3 sponsored by Apple Computers.”
“The turbocharged engine and transmission were taken out and completely rebuilt. Aside from increasing the bore size on the pistons and powder coating select parts in Arsham Studio green, the 930A engine was expertly restored to factory settings. There are many more stories and details to share about the 930A which I will be getting into this week!”
Damn, he definitely went to town on the car, and it without a doubt paid off. Check some pics of the fresh whip below.
