Remember when you nervously introduced your first girlfriend to the rest of your family back in your teenage years? Your parents probably made some passive-aggressive comments about how they didn’t like her hairstyle and you probably hated them for it.
Parents are over-protective by nature, and it seems like it’s no different for rappers. ASAP Rocky and Kendall Jenner are the latest celebrity couple to be hitting the headlines, after being spotted together and confirmed as a couple by various unnamed ‘sources’ who have spoken to the tabloids. Of course, the Kardashians are no strangers to dating and marrying rappers, with everyone from Kanye West to French Montana to Tyga being consistently tied to the family in one way or another.
While it seems that ASAP Rocky might be the latest to join the fold, one lady who’s not buying into the hype is Kari Mayers, who is ASAP Rocky’s stepmother. “I’ve heard all about him dating Kendall and I don’t like it,” she said while speaking to Daily Mail.
“Everything I hear about the Kardashians makes me think they are a bad family for Rakim to be involved with. They are just not the kind of people I’d like to see him hanging around with. I don’t want him being dragged into that circus, he is too good for that and can do so much better,” she continued.
Zing! Having denounced the Kardashians so publicly, we’ll have to wait and see if the comments cause any trouble in paradise.
