Cut to Will Smith crying in the corner…

Few incidents have reverberated through pop culture and the world like Will Smith’s infamous Oscar’s slap, his assault of comedian Chris Rock due to a joke about his wife Jada going down in Oscar’s history. It ultimately culminated in a ten-year ban for Smith from the prestigious award show and effectively ruined his reputation, with the veteran actor still struggling to put it behind him to this day.

Throughout it all, however, Chris Rock himself remained silent, allowing the internet to destroy Smith for him as he continued writing stand-up comedy and touring the world, with many believing he would never address the incident publicly. To the world’s collective delight, however, it seems old mate was just figuring out exactly what he wanted to say, and he finally broke his silence this past weekend in the most, well, ‘Chris Rock’ way possible.

Releasing his new stand-up special Selective Outrage on Netflix, Rock exuded a similar air to his breakout hour, Bring The Pain, as touched everything from Michael Jackson fans to the Royal Family. He quickly made it clear that Smith wasn’t the only one he’d be taking aim at as well, honing in on the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, and her publicised feud with her famous in-laws.

However, he saved the best for last, dedicating a whole five minutes to Will Smith as he explained, “Will Smith practices selective outrage. Everybody knows what the fuck happened. And everybody really knows I had nothing to do with that shit.

“Everybody in here has been cheated on. None of us have ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us on television… She hurt him way more than he hurt me,” Rock said, in reference to Jada Pinkett’s affair with R&B singer August Alsina. “Everybody called that man a bitch … and who’s he hit? Me.”

He goes on to absolutely eviscerate Smith, all the while explaining why he didn’t retaliate when the slap occurred, hilariously ending with the line,“because I got parents. Because I was raised. And you know what my parents taught me? Don’t fight in front of white people,” as he threw the mic on stage. It’s perhaps the greatest form of revenge on Rock’s part, and unsurprisingly, Selective Outrage is already garnering rave reviews online. Check out his addressing of Slapgate below, along with the infamous slap above.
