In news that will make Denzel Washington & Julia Roberts fans very, very happy, the pair are set to reunite for the upcoming Netflix thriller Leave the World Behind, which will be the first time they’ll be sharing the screen since 1993’s The Pelican Brief.

The thriller, being helmed by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail, centres around a husband and wife who rent a home on Long Island for a vacation with their young kids. However, things take a turn when the home owners return after a black out hits New York City. With no idea of what’s going on and no way of finding out, the two families are forced into living with one another while dealing with the issues of race & class. Roberts plays the mother of the family renting and Washington plays the homeowner.

It’s safe to say Washington & Roberts will slide right into these roles, with 1993’s The Pelican Brief being a thriller of similarly high intensity. To refresh your memory on it, the 1993 film centres around a law student (Roberts) and a Washington Herald Reporter (Washington) as they work together to uncover the truth of the murder of two Supreme Court justices.

Now, after nearly 30 years, Washington & Roberts have each become Hollywood legends in their own right, starring in various classics and bagging countless awards along the way.
