It seems like everybody is riding the burger wave at the moment, and while that’s resulted in plenty more cloud-like buns and succulent patties, it’s getting harder and harder to seek out the best.

That’s why we’ve decided to round up five delicious and #veryrare limited edition burgers in Sydney that you can eat this month. All good things must come to an end, which is why some of these are only available for one day before packing up shop once more. Get your stomach growling, and hit one of these joints for a nice time:

THE LEMMY BURGER @ THE LORD GLADSTONE
AVAILABLE ONLY ON SUNDAY, JUNE 19
MORE DETAILS HERE

We think that the Lord Gladstone serves up some of the best darn chicken burgers in Chippendale, and they recently took things to the next level with a monthly burger-based soiree named Burger Lords. While they honoured Biggie Smalls with their first creation, this month they’ve raised their horns for a devilish culinary creation honouring the late Motorhead legend, Lemmy. Of course, it wouldn’t be a metal meal without some beef brisket infused with Jack Daniels, while there’s also three servings of cheese and jalapenos (as well as jalapeno Pringles) for a fiery kick down the throat. Put on an ill-fitting denim vest, listen to ‘Ace of Spades‘ at an uncomfortably loud volume, eat this burger and wash it down with a shot of bourbon in true Motorhead style. It all goes down this Sunday, for one day only.

FUNK-N-BURGERS: GOES TO WHITE CASTLE @ MARLBOROUGH HOTEL AVAILABLE ONLY ON SUNDAY, JUNE 26 MORE DETAILS HERE

This famed burger event is returning in June, blessing the Inner-West with burger platters that should only be tackled by the brave and extremely hungry. If you finish a platter by yourself in under eight minutes, you’ll get a free t-shirt and also the admiration of everybody in the building. The ketchup comes infused with bacon, while the fries also have bacon and cheese injections. The first 100 orders also get a free toy! We love free shit, and we love toys. Organisers state that this just might be the last Funk-N-Burgers event – so say farewell with some incredible meat sweats at the Marlborough.

FINDING EMO @ BAR LUCA
AVAILABLE FROM NOW UNTIL JUNE 18
MORE DETAILS HERE

If you spent the best part of the 2000s bottling up your teenage angst and swearing at your grandmother, there’s a huge chance that you were an emo. The subculture exploded at the turn of the century in a flurry of studded belts, spray-on jeans, carabiners and shitty haircuts, while bands like Underoath, Atreyu and My Chemical Romance all had their time in the spotlight. Now, Bar Luca have honoured the subculture with an ingenious twist on cult film Finding Nemo, serving up a fish burger named the Finding Emo. Of course, the key ingredients have been blackened with charcoal and squid ink, while dashes of colour from the cabbage honour the emo preference for purple and pink shades on their ominous outfits. This is the perfect menu item to be crying while eating.

8BITS & BYTES @ MARTIN PLACE AVAILABLE FROM NOW UNTIL JUNE 18 MORE DETAILS HERE

Vivid Sydney has been showering Sydney with lights, music and dancefloors aplenty over the past few weeks, but it’s sadly coming to an end this Saturday. If you haven’t already, head down to Martin Place to see 8Bits & Bytes – a wonderful fusion between burgers and video games. Need we say more? It’s a glitchy, illuminated setting created by Sydney production crews Motti+Smith and Paper Moose, set will transport you to a virtual reality fantasyland of colour and animation. Meanwhile, the food is being taken care of by some of the city’s most notorious burger connoisseurs: Mary’s, Milk Bar by Café Ish, Pub Life Kitchen, Bangbang Cafe and Sammy’s Burger Bar. There’s also a game of digital squash that lets you become the racquet – dreams do some true.

DOWN-N-OUT @ SIR JOHN YOUNG HOTEL
AVAILABLE FROM NOW UNTIL JULY 6
MORE DETAILS HERE

The Internet went a tiny bit batshit when they found out that Sydney would be getting its own In-N-Out tribute pop-up, because like we said in our original announcement, did you even go to Los Angeles if you didn’t take an aerial shot of your In-N-Out burger and animal style fries? Down-N-Out is their cheeky take on the American favourite, sitting conveniently right in the middle of the CBD. With vegeterian options and screens showing the NBA, this is a no-brainer – and while a finishing date for the pop-up has been set for July 6, banter on the Facebook event page suggests that a more longstanding restaurant isn’t out of the question.
