Google and Youtube had a bit of trouble last night, with an outage ripping across multiple google services and subsequently sending the Internet into a tailspin. The fallen include Google Drive, Hangouts, Gmail, Google Photos and Google Docs. Even Pokemon Go didn’t stand a chance, with errors popping up across the globe for whomever attempted to use the various services.
Messages YouTube users got revolved around quotes like “something went wrong” while others read “there was an error”, while Google were less open to admitting there was a problem with their services. The site initially read that “there are no disruptions with Gmail”, however they later amended their statement to assure users that it was “aware of the problem” and that a majority of users were having the same issues.
We are aware that many of you are having issues accessing YouTube right now – our team is aware and looking into it. We'll update you here as soon as we have more news.

For us Aussies, we were mostly alright, given the it was overnight and not during work hours. However, those overseas weren’t as lucky, with teachers in particular not able to teach lessons as well as students not being able to submit final exams. People working from home were left in the lurch as well, not being able to access Google Docs or use the chat function on Gmail while they worked from home.
I’m a teacher.. all of gmail is down. Google classroom down. This seems like the end of the world in the education world lol

It seems everything is back to normal now, but that didn’t stop the internet having a field day with this, instantly taking to Twitter to troll and make light of all the chaos. Check out the hilarity below.
Update — We’re back up and running! You should be able to access YouTube again and enjoy videos as normal https://t.co/NsGBvvaTko
