It seems like you can’t even get a humble brunch without somebody taking 13 aerial shots of your avocado, and if you host a party, did it even happen if there weren’t hourly Instagram updates with evidence of everybody having fun? But the iPhone Photography Awards is about celebrating people who have taken this contemporary art form to new levels, using nothing but a keen eye and a smart phone to deliver these breathtaking shots.
The competition drew entries from 139 counties, with the grand prize going to Siyuan Niu from China for The Man and the Eagle. The photo shows a 70-year old Mongolian man staring deep into the eyes of his pet golden eagle in the Tianshan Mountains. Our new life goal is to acquire a pet golden eagle.
