Controversial comedian Ricky Gervais is finally returning from his self-imposed stand-up exile this month, announcing his new Netflix special Supernature (out May 24th) and sharing a brief clip. The special marks his second stand-up offering on the streaming platform and follows on from his past Netflix originals such as After Life and Special Correspondents.
The taping is derived from his last tour of the same name which was abruptly brought to a halt during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Although he eventually got back on the road and finished his slated list of dates, it’s safe to say the tour and special as a whole definitely flew under the radar.
Nonetheless, the themes Gervais touches on in the one minute clip are pretty timeless, taking us through the rules of comedy, his relationship with his cat and his qualms with the supernatural. Gervais also maintains his trademark air of IDGAF throughout the teaser, letting off several politically incorrect jokes that have become synonymous with his comedic style. Check it below, and be sure to catch the full special when it drops on May 24th.
