Ready to feel old? It’s been a whopping 26 years since Ice Cube starred in the cult classic (and OG stoner movie) Friday. To this day, it’s still heralded as an absolute classic, praised for its simple plot and humour but brilliant execution. It also gave birth to numerous one-liners and moments that have gone on to define the culture, from “Bye Felicia” to “You got knocked the fuck out!” still being used in all corners of the culture today. Now, Ice Cube is returning to his Friday roots with his latest business venture, and honestly, it makes perfect sense.
Taking to social media, the ‘No Vaseline’ rapper announced his new cannabis line, amazingly name Fryday Kush. The new drop is made in partnership with Caviar Gold cannabis company, and is only available in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Oklahoma at this stage.
The packaging is absolute glorious as well, coming with the rapper’s face printed atop glossy packaging. It seems they pack quite a punch as well, with a description on his website reading “From the man that needs no introduction, these infused cones and high potency buds are the strongest nugs on the market, personally developed by Ice Cube.”
Hollywood legend Kevin Smith was quick to welcome Cube into the Cannabis industry, posting a picture of the new Fryday Kush to his twitter with the caption” I think it’s gonna be a Good Day! Welcome to the Caviar Gold family Ice Cube! I’ve got my own strains developed by green genius Cavi Mike, but I’m trying your new stuff this morning because it’s FRIDAY!”
