Finnish director Taneli Mustonen made it a mission to dig deep into our psyche and find the darkness beneath. He found denial, which he explores in his latest effort, ‘The Twin’. The film stars Aussie screen icon Teresa Palmer, as a grieving Rachel. After a recent accident, which claimed the life of one of her twin sons, she retreats to the Scandinavian countryside for reprieve. However, fate has other plans. Instead, she is led down a path of malicious forces and heartbreaking truths, looking to crush her exhausted grip on reality.
Palmer has been a staple of the big screen for over fifteen years. Her filmography reads with a healthy mix of Hollywood blockbusters, homegrown dramas, and genre-bending indie fare. With ‘The Twin’, the Adelaide born thespian captures the shattered emotional landscape of a mother deep in agony. As the film winds into shocking twists and mind-blowing revelations, we believe it all through Palmer’s tortured performance.
Special thanks to Teresa Palmer for taking the time to chat. The Twin is available to stream now on Shudder or via the AMC+ Bundle on Prime Video and Apple TV channels.
