Sure, some people use it exclusively to look at pictures of dogs and gourmet restaurants they can’t afford. But in an age driven by social media, Instagram can be a serious money maker – which is why people go to great lengths to ensure that their feed looks meticulous and squeaky clean, carefully placing each image to weave a cohesive narrative. Maybe that’s why some people are having miniature heart attacks at what seems to be an Instagram update, switching from the App’s traditional three-image grid to a four-image grid:
Hey @instagram, people have spent years perfecting their feeds. No 4 grid update please. pic.twitter.com/hPuCJthKb6

The changes have been reported by some publications online, and while nobody can confirm whether or not this was a glitch experienced by a handful of users, Refinery29 point out that Instagram usually test runs its upgrades on select App users before implementing them across the board.
While some of Instagram’s major updates – including the ability to add stories or edit captions – have been well received, it seems like this one is going to be a little more divisive for brands, social media celebrities and people who have spent a lot of time aligning their pics. Then again, there’s a whole bunch of people who probably don’t give a shit. We’ll have to wait and see if this is indeed an official IG update.
Is everyone else's Instagram doing this?! My whole grid looks off now! Yo @instagram can we discuss this? pic.twitter.com/SPIxGNtVI8
