Resurrected from the dead…

In news that will shock Marvel fans, the coolest man in the world Jamie Foxx is set to reprise his role as Electro in the upcoming Spider-Man movie. This definitely comes as a bit of a shock (no pun intended), as Foxx’s character was killed off in the ill-received Amazing Spiderman 2. But knowing Marvel, we’re sure they’ll cook up something interesting for this. And to be fair this isn’t even the first time they’ve brought an actor back from another series of films (J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson comes to mind), so no doubt they’ll pull it off easy.

Foxx joins the returning cast of Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei Jacob Batalon and many more, all of whom were left in a dire situation at the end of Far From Home due to (Spoilers) Mysterio revealing Spiderman to be Peter Parker. It’s unclear how the writers of Marvel are gonna deal with this, but no doubt throwing Electro in the mix will help light things up a bit.

We haven’t got many details yet about the upcoming film, but so far it’s slated for a November 5, 2021 release, which will probably change considering how affected Hollywood has been by COVID. Regardless, we’re definitely keen to see Jamie Foxx and Tom Holland go at it on the big screen. Check out some footage of Electro from The Amazing Spiderman 2 below.
