All the while helping the Aussie film industry…

Homegrown legend Chris Hemsworth is coming through hard for his fans and the Aussie film industry, one of many industries properly struggling since the onset of COVID-19. The star has signed on for a Netflix Original film Spiderhead, alongside Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollet, and is reportedly gunning for production to be brought down to Australia.

The film, which is based on George Saunders’ short story, is set in the near future and is based on convicts who are able to gain shorter sentences, but they have to participate in experimental medical studies which test emotion-altering drugs. As per reports, the film is the first of a four movie deal Hemsworth has signed with Netflix, with the deal reportedly stating that all films will shoot in Australia, which would be bloody huge for the Aussie film industry right now.

The news comes as the new Thor movie is set to soon start filming in NSW, with actress Natalie Portman arriving in the country just weeks ago. No doubt Sydney-siders will be able to catch glimpses of production here and there, much like when Hemsworth brought Thor: Ragnarok to our shores.

All this comes as Chris recently proved his salt as a Today Show weatherman, hijacking a weather report to give his own take on the news. Check it out below.
