In news that’ll have any 90s kid giddy with excitement, beloved sit-com Malcolm in the Middle is reportedly getting a reboot. The beans were spilled by none other than the titular star of the show, Frankie Muniz, during a recent interview, where he touched on what his life has been like since he found success as teenage goofball, Malcolm Wilkerson (who knew old mate went on to become a racecar driver?!).
Speaking to Fox, Muniz reminisced on his time on Malcolm and his experience revisiting it later in life, explaining, “When I was filming the show, I obviously was a kid. We did seven seasons, 151 episodes. I didn’t really watch the show when it was on, but I’ve now since watched the show with my wife. We watched all 151 episodes… I realized, ‘Wow, that’s what we were making.’… I can separate myself from being on it and watching it as a fan. I would love to know what the family’s up to.”
Then, he added the ultimate teaser, stating, “I know Bryan Cranston is really into the idea and he’s kind of heading writing the script and getting everything rolling. So, there might be something. I would be down 100 percent.”
There’s been no word from Cranston (who played Hal on the series) as of yet on the news, but considering the critical acclaim he’s garnered in his career since Malcolm in the Middle ended (Breaking Bad, Argo, Total Recall to name a few), we’re guessing he’d have no trouble in getting the reboot of the ground. For now, check out some of the funniest moments (and best pranks) from the show below.
