For the first time in nearly 30 years…

After months of rumours and speculation, Michael Keaton’s Batman is confirmed to return to the big screen for Ezra Miller’s solo The Flash movie. The announcement comes after a long period of deliberation on the part of Keaton, with The Hollywood legend making a point to say he’d be interested multiple times, but never actually stating whether he’d be keen.

Although the DC universe already has an established Batman, it’s reported that Keaton’s Batman will be included through a form of time-travel and venturing through the Multi-verse. Hilariously, it’s been confirmed that the film will “will disregard the latter two entries entirely,” meaning that only Keaton’s Batman will be regarded as a Batman in the multi-verse as opposed to Val Kilmer’s and George Clooney’s portrayal of the iconic character (no tears shed here).

No doubt fans of Keaton will be ecstatic, especially after an interview he gave several weeks ago where it seemed the COVID situation in the UK was really putting him off playing the role, with The Hollywood titan explaining “I keep my eye more on the Covid situation in the UK than anything. That will determine everything, and so that’s why I’m living outside the city here on 17 acres, staying away from everybody, because the Covid thing has got me really concerned.

“So, that’s my first thing about all projects. I look at it and go, is this thing going to kill me, literally? And you know, if it doesn’t, then we talk.”

Safe to say we’re super glad to see Keaton back in the Batman outfit. Check out the announcement of his addition to the cast below.
