One of the artists gracing the walls that day was Scott Marsh, fresh from his viral Kanye kissing Kanye artwork that was taken down for a six figure sum. Always one to raise the bar, Marsh decorated the back wall of The Lord Gladstone with a very topical mural depicting Mike Baird, complete with a kebab and glass of wine in hand at 1:31am. Finished off with a #CasinoMike hashtag, the artwork stole national headlines and reignited some flair into the lockout debate once more.
Now a few weeks old, and the mural has been immortalised in t-shirt form, with all proceeds going to the ‘Keep Sydney Open’ movement. This morning, we have reports from Gladstone staff and witnesses who say that Baird pulled up in a black vehicle to take a photo in front of the mural before jetting off. As stated by Internet lord Tobias Allen:
“I saw a photo shoot happening in the lane behind the pub, and holy shit it was Mike Baird in front of his mural,” confirmed Gladstone head honcho Mitch Jamieson this afternoon. “They bailed hard after they were spotted. They sped off in dark tinted Jeeps.”
Baird’s motivations for taking a flick in front of the mural remain unknown, but we’ll have to wait to see how he responds to these latest bizarre eye-witness reports. Maybe he’s just trying to up his selfie game and ‘like to follower’ ratio? Or maybe he’s just a fucking idiot? Take a look at Marsh’s glorious artwork once again below:
