Kylie Jenner has managed to accumulate a social media following like no other.
And while she’s faced some healthy competition from Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and the late Xxxtentacion, she’s held the title of having the most liked post on Instagram – until now. In more evidence of how great/stupid the Internet is, an account by the name of @world_record_egg posted an image of an egg (surprise, surprise) on January 5, urging users to set the world record for the most liked post on the social media platform.
“Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram,” the caption states. “Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this.” Now, on January 14, the post has officially eclipsed Jenner’s image of her newborn baby Stormi which snagged 18.2 million likes – with the egg having accumulated close to 20 million.
This is a historic moment. All hail the egg.
