The country was set ablaze this past weekend as our former commander-in-chief Scott Morrison was booted out office by Labor’s Anthony Albanese, the Liberal Party leader’s political career going into freefall in front of the whole nation. Understandably, the public has since been noticeably elated, with countless memes and jokes at the former PMs expense filling every nook and cranny of the internet. One such jab at the member for Cooke however has manifested in a virtual game, titled Scotty Goes To Centrelink.
As the name suggests, the game allows you to play as a welfare-seeking Scott Morrison and his adventures to Centrelink. The official description for the game however frames it in a much funnier light however, reading, “Help a newly unemployed Scott Morrison navigate the hellish welfare system that he helped build.”
Eerily reminiscent of the viral 2012 game Slenderman, the game strikes a horror-like tone from the creepy city ScoMo navigates to the Centrelink itself. The officer at the virtual welfare office however couldn’t be more accurate, with the character stating,”We can’t just give you free money. We have to be sure you’re looking for work.” After the heated exchange however, things get even worse for the ex-PM, as he’s tormented by the likes of cursed wheelie bins and cursed floating heads of his own that repeat, “get off welfare, get into work”.
If you manage to finish the game, however, let’s just say art will imitate life, and you’ll find yourself on a certain beach Morrison took refuge on while our entire country went to shit in 2019. But don’t just take our word for it, play Scotty Goes To Centrelink here.
