All nine members of local photography clique Hoboincognito will be joining forces tonight at The Lord Gladstone for their ‘Greenery’ exhibition.

Yep, you guessed it – ‘Greenery’ is exploring Hobo’s favourite colour, showcasing is versatility with some striking images from their photographers. Ahead of the show, we had a quick chat with Hobo general Andy Amos about the concept – see it below alongside some previews of what to expect. First of all, obvious question – why greenery? Do you guys just enjoy some green every now and again or is there a deeper meaning?

Greens cool for 2017. Just ask Pantone. It’s their colour of the year. Actually we were divided on the colour theme, and then Pat and I just said that’s what we are doing. And then everyone did. The imagery looks strong.

As photographers you probably have some understanding of colour and how it translates in images. Is there anything in particular about green which is special aesthetically?

Come see the images thats the best way to explain it. They look great against the white walls and black floors of Goodspace.

What are some of your favourite green things in the world besides kale and bush doof lasers?

Cacti and Poisonous gas – well thats what Marcu was thinking we should add to the exhibition.

What is the more powerful green outfit: Rihanna performing ‘BBHMM’ at the iHeart Radio Awards or Kermit The Frog?

Man, you cant go past Kermit.

The exhibition will be showing work from nine Hobogestapo photographers. How do you guys manage a sizeable collective? Do you guys have a big group chat where you exchange ideas?

Manage is a loose term. We really just let everyone do their own thing. That’s when it really works.

What unites all Hobogestapo photographers and what sets them apart?

Good peeps is where it starts. Taking a snap can be learnt.
