Video has emerged of the jet ski stunt that went wrong for Michael Vicens-Segura who was assisting during filming.

You’d have to think that over the 20-plus years that the Jackass crew have been performing dangerous, stupid, and often hilarious stunts that lawsuits would be steadily flowing in from people they’ve injured, defamed or duped. It’s probably breakage or insurance cost that is factored into just about everything they do, right? That said, it’s unlikely they’ve stared down the barrel of one as sizeable as $12 milly USD.

That’s what Michael Vicens-Segura is claiming following a stunt in 2018 filmed in Puerto Rico where “he was taken to hospital by helicopter for emergency surgery, suffered a fractured skull and brain bleeding, which led to him being placed in a medically induced coma.” He claims the injuries sustained in the incident still give him pain to this day.

The stunt, which you can see below, involved Jackass OGs Chris Pontius and Steve-O in a bungee tug-o-war on jet skis, with Vicens-Segura’s head being struck by a harness that was supposed to attached to Steve-O’s back that had snapped off. In the aftermath you can see Vicens-Segura applying pressure to a bloodied head while producers speak to local authorities. “We provide this video looking for witnesses and people who know about the creation and execution of this stunt. If you have information, please contact us,” Vicens-Segura’s attorney said of the video.

The video has been released just days after the newest instalment of the Jackass series opened at cinemas:
