Seems impossible to escape Tom Cruise at the moment…

Hot off his reprisal of Maverick in the recent Top Gun reboot, veteran action star Tom Cruise is continuing to play upon the early roles that shot him to superstardom, now reprising his Mission Impossible character Ethan Hunt in the new trailer for part one of Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning.

The new teaser sees the certified adrenaline junkie continue to operate at superhuman ability amongst a hazy backdrop of smoke and mirrors. Past Mission Impossible stars Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson and Ving Rhames all return in the latest instalment, along with Henry Czerny, who reprises his role of ex-IMF Director Eugene Kittridge from the first film in the series. Time seems to have taken its toll on his character however, so much so that he drops several authoritarian lines throughout the two minute trailer.

Action-wise Cruise is again firing on all cylinders (no surprises here), engaging in plenty of chase scenes, fist fights and almost every form of vehicular mayhem you can imagine. It all culminates in Cruise riding a motorbike off a cliff at the end of the trailer, all before he jumps off it and goes into freefall in what is definitely the most dangerous stunt he’s ever done. The film is set to be released in trailers next year. Check out the full teaser below.
