Strange times…

It seems famous flat earthers like Kyrie Irving and B.o.B. aren’t alone in their deep beliefs, with a contestant on Millionaire Hot Seat truly representing for all the flat earthers out there and then some. Ashleigh Koutsoukos, a nursery hand from Springwood, wore a shirt reading ‘the earth is flat’ on the popular game show, staunchly insisting to host Eddie McGuire that there’s no curvature of the Earth and that space travel is the “best joke I’ve ever heard”. Christ.

Gotta hand it to her for her guts to go on national TV with a shirt like that, no doubt that would’ve been confronting to say the least.

Going back and forth with McGuire about seeing the curvature of the Earth, the contestant fired back “Maybe my camera is broken and has a fish eye lens” when explaining that she couldn’t see the curvature of the earth from the top of the mountain where she lives.

Sadly, the contestant wasn’t able to debate for long, coming up short when asked the first question about identifying which word was correctly spelt, choosing “missfit” when the correct answer was “misspell”.

She isn’t alone however, with multiple notable figures like basketballer Kyrie Irving, rapper B.o.B. and personality Tila Tequila all wholeheartedly believe in the theory. But it seems not all of them are willing to go to bat for the theory as strongly as Koutsoukos, with Irving walking back his comments last year, saying certain thoughts are best kept in “intimate conversations”. Does Millionaire Hot Seat count as intimate Kyrie? Asking for a mate…
