We all love theme parks. They’re a cornerstone of most of our childhoods, a place where, if you’re lucky, you’re taken to as a young kid to indulge in all of your greatest desires. From eating various kinds of food and candy to riding the most terrifying of rides. They’re a place of pure joy, and shouldn’t be anything but. Yet, when New Jersey theme park Action Park was in operation from 1978 to 1996, it was anything but that. Over the two decades six people died on the grounds, and countless more were bruised and bloodied.
Now, HBO is getting into the nitty gritty of action park, with their new documentary Class Action Park revealing the “truth about New Jersey’s Action Park; widely regarded as the world’s most dangerous amusement park and a staple of growing up in the New York/New Jersey area in the ’80s and ’90s”.
The trailer itself is pretty explosive, at one point getting interviewees to list all the ways in which people died at the amusement park. It’s straight up crazy, from being electrocuted to decapitated to impaled to heart attacks, Action Park sure witnessed enough madness to last a lifetime.
This definitely looks insane, and no doubt will bring to light the true horrors that hid within the Action Park when it drops on HBO Max on August 27. Check the trailer below.
