The video game comes to life ahead of its much-hyped film remake.
Already abuzz in the gaming community, the makers of Mortal Kombat’s feature 3D reboot have notched the hype to fever pitch with the release of the upcoming film’s first seven minutes. In it, the much-loved video game is given new life during an action sequence packed with gory fatalities, brutal knife stunts and a chilly welcome from fan favourite Sub-Zero.
Helmed by Australian producer James Wan (the director behind equally-violent flicks like The Conjuring), the remake of the 90s classic will follow an Earth-bound martial artist after being invited to compete in the intergalactic combat tournament. But fans will have to wait-out that promising tale, with the full film set to be released this Friday, April 23. Until then, would-be fighters the world-over only have these precious few minutes to live-out their martial artistry.
