James Cameron take notes…
In what’s a hilarious and much needed twist on the forest moon of Pandora, the ever-growing behemoth of AI has turned its attention to the James Cameron sci-fi epic of Avatar, conjuring up a Wes Anderson version of the boundary breaking film.
Titled The Peculiar Pandora Expedition, the trailer for the alternate blockbuster unravels the tale of Avatar with Anderson’s signature flair for fanciful colors and whimsical scene competition. But here’s the real treat: the Na’vi characters are brought to life by none other than AI versions of Anderson’s trusted troupe – Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Owen Wilson. It’s an all-star cast, and as expected, all of the above treat us to dead pan stares right into the camera, minus Wilson who plays a flying banshee (cue Owen Wilson “Wow” face).
In what’s the cherry on top, however, instead of the menacing Mech Suits that wreaked such havoc in the first film, they’ve been transformed into the most adorable Amplified Mobility Platform Suits that are, well, what’s the opposite of intimidating?
At the rate AI is progressing soon the whole history of Hollywood will get the Wes Anderson treatment, which we’re not at all mad at. Check out the full trailer for The Peculiar Pandora Expedition below.
