The actor belted out a rendition of the film’s iconic ‘Legend Of The Rent’ song.

Jack Black recently serenaded a young School Of Rock superfan with a rendition of one of the film’s iconic songs. Black — who was hosting a fundraiser walk for child hospice care in California — belted out a few impromptu verses of ‘Legend Of The Rent’, performing the rock anthem to a Pearson syndrome sufferer named Abraham.

Footage of the performance has since gone viral on social media, and depicts Black being introduced to the 15-year-old, who is currently receiving palliative care. Abraham informs Black that his favourite movie is School of Rock, before referencing the fan-favourite soundtrack song. The two talk a little before Black kneels down, holds Abraham’s hand and bursts into ‘Legend Of The Rent’.

The video comes a week after Black deemed School of Rock “the highlight of my career”. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor fondly recalled the film’s cast, saying that his “best memories are just that group of kids, and how funny and great they were.” School of Rock was directed by Mike White, and premiered in 2003.

Elsewhere, Black is gearing up for the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, in which he voices Bowser. The cast also includes Chris Pratt as the title character, Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong, and Keegan Micheal Key as Toad. It’s set for release in April of next year. Meanwhile, in music, Black forms one-half of the comedy rock duo Tenacious D alongside fellow actor Kyle Gass.
