Green recalled Eddie Murphy coming to his rescue after Murray “dropped [him] in the trash can” on SNL set.

Seth Green has recalled the time that Bill Murray dropped him in a rubbish bin at nine years old. Detailing the incident — which allegedly took place on the set of Saturday Night Live — during a recent interview on the Good Mythical Morning YouTube show, Green said the encounter with Murray left him in tears. The Scooby Doo actor claimed he was “dangled…over a trash can” after taking Murray’s place on the dressing room couch.

“[Murray] saw me sitting on the arm of this chair and made a big fuss about me being in his seat,” Green said. “And I was like, ‘That is absurd. I am sitting on the arm of this couch. There are several lengths of this sofa. Kindly eff off.’ And he was like, ‘That’s my chair.’” Green said his mother then suggested he vacate the couch, before deeming Murray’s insistence on sitting there as a “power play.”

After refusing to give up his seat, Green said Murray “picked me up by my ankles, held me upside down…he dangled me over a trash can and he was like, ‘The trash goes in the trash can.’” Green recalled that he was “screaming” and “[swinging] my arms” before Murray “dropped me in the trash can.” Afterwards, Green said he “was horrified” and that he “ran away, hid under the table in my dressing room and just cried.”

Green later revealed that Eddie Murphy — who was then a SNL castmate — consoled him after the incident, recalling Murphy’s insistence that “the show must go on” and that “everybody knows Bill’s a dick.” Green’s claims come in the wake of a series of similar allegations levelled against Murray. Last week, actress Geena Davis alleged to have had a bad experience with the actor while auditioning for her role in the 1990 film, Quick Change.

Elsewhere, Grown Ups comedian Rob Schneider claimed that Murray “hated” various SNL castmates, including Chris Farley and Adam Sandler. Of Sandler, Schneider recalled that Murray “hated [him]… Murray, he just wasn’t into that groove of it, you know? And Sandler was just committed to it, and just like… as soon as he would get on, you could see the audience just ate him up.”
