Despite being a walking scandal at this point, there appears to be no topic where Kanye West won’t go…

Amid a flurry of controversy following his decision to wear a ‘White Lives Matter’ t-shirt during Paris Fashion week earlier this month, Kanye West has doubled-down on a slew of bogus claims during a recent appearance on the Drink Champs podcast. The two-hour interview — which aired overnight and was hosted by N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN — the rapper opined on a range topics, from addressing his anti-Semitic Tweets to naming who he believes is “the greatest rapper ever.”

As is now par for the course for Kanye, there appeared to be nowhere the rapper wouldn’t go, first discussing the 2020 murder of police brutality victim George Floyd. While referencing an upcoming documentary about the murder produced Candiace Owens — with whom he wore the ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt — Kanye attempted to tie Floyd’s death to an overdose on fentanyl. The claim has been debunked numerous times, with Floyd’s death ruled officially as a homicide while his killer, Derek Chuavin, remains in prison.

“If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that,” Kanye said of Floyd’s death. In the wake of the claim, it’s been reported today that Floyd’s family is considering filing a lawsuit for Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death. But Kanye didn’t stop at peddling conspiracies over Floyd’s murder, later diving into the equally intense topic of his anti-Semitic Tweets, which last week saw him banned from Instagram and Twitter after declaring “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”

Referencing the controversy, Kanye ranted about Jewish people’s supposed control of all media and entertainment, even blaming “Jewish Zionists” for recent news coverage of ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her then-boyfriend Pete Davidson (whom he called a “heroin addict”). “Jewish people have owned the Black voice,” Ye said. “Either it’s through us wearing the Ralph Lauren shirt, or it’s all of us being signed to a record label, or having a Jewish manager.”

The rapper later claimed that three of his upcoming stadium shows were cancelled after his anti-Semitic Tweets, before elaborating on the topic of the Kardashian family. After deeming Drake as “the greatest rapper ever”, Kanye in the same breath admitted that the Canadian rapper had slept with his former mother-in-law, Kris Jenner.  When questioned about the rumours — which have been swirling since 2013 — Kanye said the affair “was hard”, before mentioning Jenner’s current boyfriend Cory Gamble.

“You know what it mean, Cory know what it mean,” Kanye said. Though his interviews of this ilk have drawn uniform criticism from all corners of Hollywood — including from Jaden Smith, Jamie Lee Curtis, Diddy, Sarah Silverman, Jack Antonoff, John Legend and David Schwimmer, among many others — Kanye seems unconcerned of the consequences of his comments. Check back next week when the rapper no-doubt puts his foot firmly in his mouth yet again.
