After a year of cinematic missteps and unfavourable reviews, Marvel appears to be getting back on track in the trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania…

Paul Rudd is back in action as Scott Lang in the third instalment of the beloved Ant Man trilogy, with the first trailer for the upcoming epic showing the Avenger in his first face off with new Marvel baddie, Kang the Conqueror.

Joined by partner in crime Hope and daughter Cassandra, along with the Wasp herself Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym, the film follows Ant Man and co. as they’re transported to the Quantum Realm, with seemingly no way out. Once there, they encounter various spectacles and mythical threats, however, Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror outranks them all, with the trailer hinting at the limitless powers at his disposal, and his desire for utter domination.

First introduced in the season one of Loki, Kang has a brief appearance in the two minute clip, but his presence is certainly felt, with the new Marvel head villain ditching the humour of his small-screen debut in favour of a more intimidating, menacing aura. It results in his offering Ant Man an ultimatum to turn against his fellow superheroes, in what’s the first step toward the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars saga.
