Kevin Costner is definitely firing on all cylinders in this later phase of his career, taking on interesting and dynamic roles that contain a gorgeous amount of menace and likability that only old mate Kev can pull off. And his latest role in Let Him Go sees him continue that dichotomy, but opposite Diane Lane as they play a pair of badass grandparents.
The film follows sheriff George Blackledge (Costner) and his wife Margaret (Lane) in the wake of their son’s death as they leave their Montana ranch to rescue their young grandson from a dangerous family. When faced with the realisation that the family won’t let their grandson go without a fight, the Blackledges are more than happy to oblige them.
Costner and Lane have actually played a pair of parents, linking up in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel as the rents of Superman. It’ll definitely be cool to see them share the screen again, but we’re guessing there’s gonna a lot less CGI and special effects, instead just some good old fashioned drama and some killer performances.
The film is set to be released in theatres on November 6. Check the full trailer below.
