Continuing to build hype for the Saved By The Bell sequel series, show runners for the beloved show have dropped a new trailer teasing the return of an iconic story-line. The trailer sees overworked student Daisy (Haskiri Velazquez) tempted by Mac Morris (Mitchell Hoog) with the possibility of boundless productivity in the form of caffeine pills. But never fear, Elizabeth Berkley’s much more wiser and knowledgeable character comes to the rescue, sharing her own personal experience with Daisy in hilarious fashion.
“At first, they’re so exciting,” she says. “And then, it gets even more exciting. But after that it gets so scary, and in the end you ruin your girl groups shot at a recording contract!”
The reintroduction of the plot point seems to be going quite well with adherents of the old show, with numerous tweets praising the choice by the show runners.

I just laughed very very hard at the caffeine pills joke in the Saved by the Bell reboot trailer. Lovely to see Elizabeth Berkley again (Mario not so much. Tool.)

A release date for the series which takes place at present-day Bayside, has yet to be announced. So far we know Mario Lopez’s character A.C. Slater is the resident gym coach, along with a new stack of characters making up the present day student body. It definitely looks like it’s gonna be every bit as funny as the original, with of course that 2020 flavouring embedded throughout. Check the full trailer below.
