Samuel L. Jackson recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live for a special virtual interview recently, talking everything fro what he’s been doing in self-quarantine to debuting an adult children’s book about social distancing called ‘Stay the F**k at Home’.
The book is the sequel to the 2011 book Go the F**k to Sleep by authors Adam Mansbach and Ricardo Cortés, which Jackson famously read on YouTube. The same authors thought it was the perfect time for Jackson to reprise his role as narrator, giving an impassioned reading of the adult children’s book whilst on Kimmel.
The poem is an absolute knee slapper, with Jackson hilariously delivering lines such as “Now technically I’m not a doctor/ But motherf**ckers listen when I read a poem/ So here I am, Sam F**cking Jackson/ Imploring you: Keep your ass at home.” It sounds like Jackson literally wrote these lines. The poem then urges people to stop going to the casino, as well as thanking everyone for “doing your part to flatten the curve because that shit is steep”.
Pretty hilarious right? The Pulp Fiction actor explained why they chose now to deliver a reading of the book “I got a call the other day from Adam Mansbach, the guy that wrote the original Go the F**k to Sleep, and we talked about what we could do remind people of social distancing and where we are in these times now. So he wrote a new poem, I read it and we want to present it to the public right now”.
Safe to say its perfectly timed, and lets be real, who on earth is gonna disobey Sam L. Jackson? This might be the best preventative measure for social distancing we have right now…
