What a host…

It’s fair to say we’ve all been missing the hilarious sketches, gorgeous improv and musical wonder that comes with SNL. Each episode overflowing with good vibes and entertainment that’s perfect for making lockdown go by. But with SNL suspending physical production during the COVID-19 crisis, we’ve definitely been just a bit short of laughs whilst at home.

But it appears that’s about to change, as SNL has stepped up to prove a special ‘At Home’ edition of the show that was entirely remotely produced, including the beloved ‘Weekend Update’ segment and other original content.

Deciding to open the episode in true style and class, the SNL team have recruited none other than Tom Hanks, and boy, what a host. After giving fans an update on his health condition and cracking a few jokes, it’s safe to say old mate Tommo is in prime condition.

“But, why me as host?” he asked. “Well, for one, I have been the celebrity canary in the coal mine for the coronavirus and ever since being diagnosed I have been more like America’s dad than ever before… since no one wants to be around me very long and I make people uncomfortable.” Classic.
